About Sumba Sunset

Sumba Sunset started with Petu, Sumba's core lord. After years working at a high-end luxury resort, he took everything he'd learned about hospitality and built something of his own, here on his island, on his terms.

We were the first local accommodation in Kerewe, and we're still the original local surf camp. Come live alongside us, with the community as your host. The people of Kerewe aren't staff who clock in and out - they're our neighbours, our friends, and the reason this place feels the way it does.

Lifting up the community has always been at the core of what we do. Sumba Sunset has trained almost every local surf guide working on the island today. That work has recently been formalised through the Sumba Marine Organisation (SUMO).
